By connection with researchers in the world, rushing into developing drugs to prevent virus infectious diseases.

University of Lübeck

Sakai-san is a group leader in the Structural Virology Laboratory, Division of Biochemistry, University of Lübeck in Germany. While being dedicated to the basic research for the design of drugs against virus infectious diseases prevalent in the Tropics, he is traveling all over the world.

Efficiency and research strategy are progressing, but the spirit of “My research to be useful” is unchanged.

He conducted a study on “X-ray crystal structural analysis of proteins” when he was in the laboratory of X-ray Structural Biology. “I am still analyzing three-dimensional structures of viral proteins in the current laboratory and designing molecules essential to the function of the proteins. I hope the presence of future researchers among you who sympathize with our spirits.”
