In-cell detection of RNA G-quadruplex structure using a quantitative fluorescence blinking measurement (Dr. A. Kitamura)

An international research group including Dr. Akira Kitamura, a lecturer at Faculty of Advanced Life Science, Hokkaido University, and Professor Jerker Widengren, Department of Applied Physics, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, has established a novel method to identify the folding states of RNA guanine quadruplexes (G-quadruplex) in live cells using the rate of fluorescence blinking and its ratio change of cyanine fluorophores.
