With the increase in the elderly population, developing prevention and treatment methods for dementia have become a pressing social issue. Toppan Inc., and Hokkaido University have jointly established “Comprehensive Dementia Research Course”, an Industry Creation Research Laboratory. The laboratory will collaborate with the Cognitive Science Research Center at Hokkaido University, which conducts comprehensive research on diagnostic technologies and other research related to dementia.
The Faculty of Advanced Life Science will promote one of this laboratory’s main projects: developing technology to detect Alzheimer’s disease at its early stages with Toppan Inc.
