Research proposal for toughening of various materials has been accepted as KAKENHI Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas (B)

The research project “Design engineering for outstanding materials with controlled soft-stiff heterogeneity”, for which Associate Professor Tasuku Nakajima (Laboratory of Soft and Wet Matter) is one of the project leaders, has been selected as a KAKENHI Grant-in-Aid for Transformative Research Areas (B), which aims to create interdisciplinary research fields beyond the boundaries of existing academic fields. A guiding principle to toughen all kinds of materials ranging from hard glass and metals to soft plastics and rubbers will be investigated!
