Overview of Research and Education

The elucidation of the molecular mechanisms in which converters genetic information into functional molecules like RNAs and proteins is a central subject of molecular biology. We analyze the structure and function of proteins to elucidate their reaction mechanisms and intermolecular network, by using various physical, physicochemical and biochemical methods, such as crystallography, electron microscopy, calorimetry and activity measurement. We also aim at the applications of obtained structural information to drug design and industry.
