The Japan–India Science & Technology Seminar was organized to commemorate 40 years of bilateral cooperation in science and technology. In recognition of this special occasion, the Governments of Japan and India have jointly declared the ‘year of India-Japan Science, Technology & Innovation exchange’. To celebrate this initiative, the India Japan Society for Science, Technology and Education (IJSSTE) organized Japan – India Science & Technology Seminar “International Conference on Frontier Areas of Science and Technology” (ICFAST 2026 – Tokyo, March14 – 15) in association with the Indian JSPS Alumni Association (IJAA) and in collaboration with the University of Tokyo, with the support of the Embassy of India in Tokyo. Ms. Shreya M. Jayakumar, a second-year doctoral course student in the Laboratory of Molecular Chemical Biology (Monde Lab), presented her research titled “Development of Shortwave-Infrared (SWIR) Emitting Organic Probes for Deep Tissue Fluorescence Imaging.” Her presentation was recognized with the Best Poster Presentation Award.
