Overview of Research

Students acquire basic knowledge of basic medicine, clinical medicine, and regenarative medicine necessary for medical application of soft matter (synthetic polymer hydrogel). Particularly, by analyzing cell phenomena and in vivo reactivity on soft matter that mimics in vivo environment, students deepen their understanding of diseases in the field of cancer treatment, articular cartilage, and regenerative medicine. Ultimately, we aim to contribute to medical development toward an advanced precision medicine and aging society, by fusing medicine and soft matter.

Message

Soft matter (polymer synthetic hydrogel) has the unknown power to change the fate of cells. We aim to develop innovative medical treatment by elucidating the causes and conditions of various diseases using soft matter.
