Light-based Diagnosis of Cardiac Abnormalities – Biofluorescence Imaging of Fatty Acid Metabolism Using Near-Infrared Fluorescence

A joint research group led by Professor Kenji Monde, Assistant Professor Yuta Murai, Assistant Professor Mahadeva M. M. Swamy of the Laboratory of Chemical Biology, Graduate School of Advanced Life Sciences, Hokkaido University, Team Leader Takashi Kami and Technical Staff Setsuko Tsuboi of the Nanobio Probe Research Team, RIKEN Center for Frontier Biosciences, and A joint research group led by Professor Kenichi Hirano, Full-time Project Professor of the Joint Research Chair, has successfully developed a near-infrared fluorescent probe to visualize fatty acid metabolism in myocardium with light.
