“Nandemo” Counseling Services

Faculty of Advanced Life Science has launched “Nandemo” Counseling Services, which aims to provide comprehensive counseling services to assist all the students and staffs with a variety of concerns under strict confidentiality. “Nandemo” Counseling Services is working in cooperation with the HU Students’ Counseling Room and Health Care Center which enable us to work with a variety of concerns. We welcome all of you to make a good use of our services.

(If it is needed, counseling session will be arranged.) - The counseling staffs will help you solve your problems with the most appropriate and effective support protecting the confidentiality under the supervision of Dean of Faculty of Advanced Life Science, Division of Soft Matter, and Transdisciplinary Life Science Course.
- If it is needed, we might encourage the consulter to visit the HU Student’s Counseling Room or Health Care Center.
Handling of personal information:
We keep strict confidentiality of personal information shared during the sessions (except for the cases when we work in cooperation with HU all university services). We will not allow anything to work to the detriment of the consulters.

All university educational subjects (General Subjects “Sogo-Kamoku”): “First step in Life Science” and “Frontier in Life Science” will be conducted in General Education Course. (First semester: every Monday, 5th period / Second Semester: every Tuesday, 1st period) The faculties from Division of Biological Sciences (Macromolecular Functions), will be giving thirty lectures. We welcome interactive debates at the lectures of your interest.

Counseling @ the Office of International Affairs (OIA)
The Office of International Affairs (OIA) provides counseling services to international students and scholars. To meet the unique needs of international students, counseling sessions deal with wide ranging issues including career and academic concerns, interpersonal and cultural adjustment issues, psychological difficulties and any other concerns that international students may encounter. The OIA counselor will help you make your own decisions to resolve these difficulties. Psychiatric consultation is also available at the HealthCare Center, which can be provided with translation by the OIA counselor.
