Overview of Research

Gels are soft materials containing a large amount of solvent, which show solid-like behavior. Not only artificial gels, organisms can be considered as gels. The artificial gels are suitable for model materials to understand the function of organisms because we can easily control various parameters of artificial gels. To understand life phenomena via the development of functional gels, we are investigating fabrication of bio-mimetic gels and mechanical property control of gels.
